Youth Ministries

During adolescence, a child can perceive Scripture, worship, and congregational life as distant, detached, and irrelevant. We at St. Peter's desire to encourage one another, especially our youth, preserving the faith once delivered to the saints. We attempt then to pass down this faith to the future generations. This is a congregational effort and undertaking, and we encourage congregational continuity that crosses generational gaps.
Junior High students are encouraged to participate in St. Peter's Youth (SPY) events. However, they do not receive full membership until they reach high school age. Check out the SPY Facebook page here.

Confirmation is a two-year intensive discipleship training program that equips youth to embrace, defend, exercise, and share their faith in Jesus and to claim their own membership at St. Peter's. Currently, the students and adult bible class are working through the Bible and the Small Catechism written by Dr. Martin Luther.  They also build lasting friendships along the way through activities, games, retreats, service events, and class sessions!
Confirmation typically serves youth in seventh and eighth grade, but high schoolers are also welcome and encouraged to take the class.
If you are interested in enrolling your student in confirmation class, please contact the church office.

High School

During the social and spiritual minefield of high school, students are never more in need of an established community of refuge and faith-building. St. Peter's aim is not just to play defense during spiritual warfare, but see that the faith of our youth actually flourishes so that they also mature spiritually as they enter adulthood.
Speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ...
